Types of Plumbing Emergencies
Modern plumbing systems are complex with many diverse components. At any given time one of these components could fail and leave you with a plumbing emergency. Plumbing emergencies can include:
- Gas Leaks: Gas leaks allow the build-up of explosive gas into your living area that could ignite with just a spark and cause a fire or even an explosion.
- Burst Pipes: Any stray moisture from burst pipes or ruptured water heaters can lead to flood damage to your property and mold overgrowth that can cause respiratory problems for years to come.
- Ruptured Water Heaters: As a water heater ages, the tank can become compromised with rust. Eventually, it can burst altogether, pouring gallons of water into your home.
- Clogged Water Mains: Any damage to the main water line for your home can leave you without access to water. Additionally, because of the amount of water it supplies, it can easily cause extensive damage.
- Backflow: Backflow of sewage resulting from damage lines or clogged sewers can expose you and your family to dangerous pathogens and gasses that are normally removed from your home.
Generally, these issues are considered emergencies because they can cause significant and costly damage to your home. At Paul The Plumber, our technicians are available 24/7 and can help limit the damage done to your home.
Advantages of Preventative Drain Cleaning
When drains begin to clog, you may experience slow and noisy draining. This is the first sign a clog is coming. Foul odors may also percolate up through drains along with debris buildup near the base of a drain. Routinely scheduled cleaning can prevent these from becoming problems. As with most maintenance, it is best to call a professional.
Some homeowners may be tempted to fix their drains with dangerous chemicals. However, the chemicals can cause serious damage to pipes. Consult the plumbing contractors at Paul

Signs You Need Water Heater Replacement
Hot water tank installation is a common plumbing repair. Hot water tanks are only expected to last 8 to 12 years. After this period they will be subject to leaking and as a result, property damage. If your tank is nearing 10 years old or is constantly failing to provide hot water, you may need to consider a new hot water tank.
Thanks to new technology, tankless water heaters can be installed instead of conventional hot water tanks. Tankless water heaters provide instant hot water at a cheaper rate than your current tank. At Paul The Plumber, we offer personalized water heater installations. Whether you’re sticking with your traditional unit, have a gas-powered system, or simply need advice, our staff is by your side.

Repair shower valve and tub trip waste
Quote to replace oil boiler
Customer had water leak coming from the ceiling of his kitchen after running the water for 10-15 minutes while filling the tub and letting it drain there wasn’t any sign of water. I pulled trim off of the shower valve to see if I could notice anything coming from the valve. There was no sign of water. The handle was extremely loose and I noticed the plumber who did the install used a lot of silicone which can mean two things. One they were just trying to make a good seal or two they were trying to fill a gap/opening. Once i pealed all the silicone off and try to re-install the trim i knew immediately that the valve was roughed in wrong because none of the trim was fitting together like it should. I came to a conclusion that the water was making its way through the trim and into the wall. I gave an estimate to perform the work. 1/31/2020; Cut open wall, Shifted valve back, installed new trim plate, went through everything and tighten/ sealed tub spout and overflow plate. Talked to custo
No heat in garage , Lennox space heater LP . Found possible issue with gas valve. The pressure regulator in gas valve had reduced pressure for some unknown reason. I was able to bring it back up closer to normal but is still a bit short of nominal pressure. I’d like to replace both gas valve and inducer motor as both are very questionable. - also looked at repiping all gas lines in house, from 20’ to stove, moving heater from basement and moving to upstairs addition, reventing , all new hard pipe gas to unit out to tanks. Approx 50 total black iron and about a day and half of labor. Need to quote.
Arrived to find customers main drain was backing up through a toilet and shower on the first floor. Found toilet was leaking at base and needed seal replaced. After agreeing on pricing, I removed the toilet and used my 1/2” cable to clear the line. I also opened up the septic and removed a large amount of paper that was clogging the line at the end. I then cameraed the line and found it to be clear but upon further inspection, found the fittings used at the 90 degree bends in the 3” drain pipe in the basement were incorrect. I recommend replacement to avoid further issues. No warranty on work preformed today.
